Dear Parents and Guardians,
This past Sunday we celebrated our sixth Sunday in ordinary time and we were blessed to hear the Beatitudes. This sermon, which is the greatest sermon, is given to us to rejoice in the promises of our Lord and the Church helps us understand that it is the formula to finding peace and joy in our lives. I pray that all of you are doing well and that you enjoyed your three-day weekend.
We celebrated Valentine’s day last Thursday and the students had a wonderful time dressing up in pink, white and red. In our classrooms, we celebrated St. Valentine of Rome and the origins of this holiday. Like many things we celebrate its origins stem from our faith.
We have started our Spring Theatre Production (different from Arts Alive) and some of our students have been auditioning afterschool. We celebrate and encourage all students to explore various avenues to showcase their talent. If you’d like your child (4th-8th) to audition for some of the leading roles please call the office for more info. Students K-3rdwill automatically be included in this production at a later date for those families that are interested.
School Spirit night was last Thursday. Thank you to all the families that grabbed their breakfast, lunch, or dinner at Chick-Fil-A. By mentioning our school name Chick-Fil-A give a portion of their sales back to our school. Please remember that we have this nice fundraiser once a month, so be on the lookout for the flyers.
Vision to Learn stopped by last Friday to distribute free reading glasses to all the students that were initially screened earlier this year. We thank them and thank you, parents, for following up on this amazing opportunity for your children. We will try to have Vision to Learn on our campus every year!
Thank you to all the families that have brought in their Chocolate Fundraiser money. If you haven’t done so please bring it in this week.
Early Registrationhas started. Please look at the paperwork sent out last week in the Yellow Folder, and sign up on Schoolspeak for a 15-minute meeting with me to go over some of the details and sign tuition contracts. We give priority to our families to register before anyone else so please take advantage of this opportunity. Your child’s spot is not saved if you do not register with us. There is an exciting incentive for our families to share and encourage other families to join our school/community. Copies of the application have been emailed and available in the office.
Our Bookfair is coming next week! Students will have the opportunity to purchase books, school items, posters and much more! The Bookfair will be located in our school Computer lab and operating hours will be during the lunch hour and after school 3-4pm.
Thanks to all for making our school such a wonderful place.
Mr. De Loera
