Welcome to the Pre-K Classroom Page!
Hi! My name is Lorena Murguia. This will be my 6th year as one of the preschool teachers. Before teaching preschool, I taught Kindergarten here for fourteen years. I have been involved in the field of Catholic Education for the past nineteen years. I am very passionate about the work I do with my students. I enjoy working with young children because they bring joy and light into my daily teaching. I was born in Mexico and came to this country when I was 9 years old with my parents. I attended Compton College and I earned my AA. After, I transferred to Cal State Dominguez Hills and earned my BA.
When I transitioned to preschool, I decided to go back to Cerritos College and obtained a child supervision site permit. I have been married to my husband for twenty-three years and we have two children. My son is a sophomore in college and my daughter is a sophomore in high school. My interests include dancing, cooking, and going to Dodger games. I am looking forward to working with you and your family.
My name is Veronica Ramos, and I am proud to say that I’m a preschool teacher at St. Bernard. I have an Associate degree in Early Childhood Education, and I have been a preschool teacher for the past Eleven years. I hope that this will be a terrific year and that we can learn and grow as a team. I love working in preschool because of all the learning, exploring, and fun activities we get to work on! I am grateful that I am a member of the SBS family, and I am so excited to have you and your family join us.
My Favorites – Food: Italian/Chinese, TV Show: Grey’s Anatomy, Movie: Ratatouille, Color: Pink, Book: Any cookbook, Drink: Ginger Ale, Season: Winter, Restaurant: Cheesecake Factory, Animal: Fiji (my Cockatiel), Hobbies: Cooking/Spending time with my family
My name is Jessica Soto. I am thrilled to be one of three teachers teaching Preschool at Saint Bernard School in such a warm and dynamic community. Working with children has been such an inspiring and reward experience for me. It is my third-year teaching here and I love it! I am currently working on my Bachelor of Science in Sociology with a minor in Child Development at MSMU in Los Angeles.
When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending quality time with my family, watching movies, visiting any possible museum I can and if I am not doing that I am most likely at Disneyland riding Thunder Mountain.
I look forward to getting to know all my students, their families and creating a creative, safe and engaging environment to encourage students to continue to grow, develop and have fun.
